The First Thing You Should do to Repair a Bad Credit
Who would not want a low score? Once you have lower credit, you can get low-interest rates for car, mortgage loans and credit cards. But, if you are thinking of asking someone to manage you like that to achieve that, NOPE. The fact is, credit counselors or money managers can not do what you can.
Of course, the natural course of action (especially) to those who have bad credit is to seek the services of credit repair companies. The way they promote their brand is very enticing and you would not second-guess what they can offer. However, do also take note that everything they can do for you to repair your credit you can do yourself for little or no cost. No need to spend money on expensive consultations.
Your next course of action will depend on the accuracy of your credit report. If you did find discrepancies, you have to report them so they will not include it anymore. But if the negative information is accurate, the only thing you can do is to wait. There is no magic, no instant filter that you can use. Make sure that you are keeping track of your payment to avoid incurring anything negative that might affect your score. You have to establish your credibility as a good payer by improving your spending and paying habits.
If the negative information in your credit report is inaccurate, you will need to send a written request to the consumer reporting company to investigate the items in question. By law, they must investigate your claim within 30 days, unless they believe that the claim is frivolous.
There might be companies offering you their services but do remember that YOU are the only one who can resolve your credit score. Credibility is not something that can be bought but something to be EARNED.
